July 2010 General Meeting

The July's WCCO meeting will be on 7/20 at Premier Wedding Dance's studio. We are so excited to have Leslie Karrer from Theknot.com to be with us. She will share some e-marketing information with the group.

In times like this, advertising is more crucial then ever. With almost every bride being on the internet, I believe a strong web presence is vital to a wedding business. I can't wait to hear what Leslie can share with us on how to utilize this powerful tool.

Bridalifestyle Website

The much anticipated Bridalifestyle Wedding Showcase website is finally live today!

The website is design to support the Bridalifestyle Wedding Showcase event on 2/28/2010 at the Hall of Mirrors, Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City.

We have new vendors signing on to be in the show everyday so check the site often to get the most updated participating vendor list.

One of the things we are most excited about is our Showcase sponsor, The Brides of Oklahoma Magazine. The must have magazine when you are planning a wedding. Every bride should also follow their blog. Everyday, the team at the Brides of Oklahoma come up with terrific planning tips, latest wedding trends and best talents this state has to offer. It's all about how to plan a perfect wedding of your dreams in Oklahoma! Did I mention we are excited to have them as our Showcase sponsor?!

Dreams and hopes

This is the very first post for the WCCO blog. The Wedding Commerce Connection of Oklahoma was founded on the ideal that every wedding business in this market are ultimately stronger together than as an individual. We hope in the coming years, this organization can be built into a strong presence in the market as a good housekeeping seal for the bride and groom searching for vendors.

I thought this would be a good time to share some of the dreams and hopes we have for the organization.

We hope to be able to create an environment for our members that we can truly trust one another and really work together for the clients.

We also want to be able to one day, in the not so distant future, being able to provide assistance to the members in getting health issuance, business liability insurance, small business loans and being able to have a voice at the State Capitol.

Wedding Industry is wonderful and unique. All of the vendors come together to help a bride's dream come true on the best and one of the most important day of her life. As vendors, we have the unique opportunity to come together and make it as perfect for the bride as we possibly can. It only stands to reason that we will all thrive if we can trust one another and share information and know, on the wedding day, we have a common goal, to make it a perfect day for the client.

The first general meeting will be on 10/22/2009 at 7pm at Colorband Photography's studio in the Montgomery building. We hope to see you there~
